LooMaps is an NYC-focused restroom discovery and community app. People can browse restroom locations, search for nearby restrooms, save favorites, submit reviews and ratings, upload photos, suggest edits, report issues, contribute new restroom locations, and participate in community features such as points, badges, and rankings.2. Information you provide directly
When you use LooMaps, you may provide information such as:
- Account information, including your email address and authentication information.
- Profile information you choose to add, such as a display name and avatar.
- Reviews, ratings, written feedback, and restroom-related comments.
- Photos you upload with reviews or restroom contributions.
- New restroom submissions, restroom photos, edit suggestions, and issue reports.
- Support, feedback, or other information you choose to send to us.3. Account and profile information
If you create an account, LooMaps uses your account information to authenticate you, maintain your profile, support sign-in and password reset flows, show your contribution history, and operate account features such as favorites, notifications, and gamification state.4. Location information
LooMaps may request access to your device location so the app can show nearby restrooms, center the map, and improve the usefulness of restroom search and directions. You can choose whether to grant location access through your device settings. If you do not grant location access, some nearby and map-based features may be limited.5. Reviews, ratings, and other user-generated content
When you submit reviews, ratings, restroom suggestions, edit suggestions, reports, or similar content, LooMaps stores that content so it can operate the service, display community contributions, moderate submissions, and improve restroom listings.
Content you submit may be reviewed by moderators or administrators before or after it is made visible in the service.6. Photos and uploads
If you upload photos, LooMaps stores and processes those files to operate review and restroom contribution features, display approved photos in the service, and support moderation and abuse prevention.7. Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how LooMaps is used and to improve the app. This may include information such as app interactions, screens viewed, feature usage, device and operating system information, app version, and general usage/session information.We also collect limited product events such as searches being opened or submitted, restroom listings being viewed, directions being requested, check-ins, reviews submitted, and restroom submissions.We do not send passwords, email addresses, review text, precise GPS coordinates, or raw search text to Google Analytics.Google may process this information on our behalf as part of the Firebase and Google Analytics services.8. Favorites, activity, notifications, and device tokens
LooMaps stores information about actions you take in the app, including:
- Favorite restrooms you save.
- Contribution history, points, badges, rankings, and related community activity.
- Notifications shown to your account in the app.
- Push notification registration tokens needed to send notifications to your device, if enabled.9. Technical, device, and operational information
LooMaps also processes certain technical and operational information, including:
- Basic authentication and service logs needed to operate the app and related backend systems.
- Certain in-app interaction events, such as search, preview, directions, and check-in events, to understand product usage and improve the service.
- Error and crash information when monitoring tools are enabled for the app build.10. How we use information
LooMaps uses information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the app and website.
- Authenticate accounts and send transactional account emails.
- Show nearby restrooms, maps, navigation context, and community restroom details.
- Display, moderate, and organize reviews, photos, restroom submissions, and edit suggestions.
- Operate favorites, notifications, rankings, points, badges, and other account features.
- Investigate misuse, enforce rules, and protect LooMaps, users, and the public.
- Analyze product usage and app performance.11. Service providers and processors
LooMaps currently relies on third-party providers to operate key parts of the service, including:
- Supabase for backend infrastructure, authentication, database, and storage.
- Resend for delivery of transactional account emails sent through the authentication system.
- Google Maps and related Google Maps APIs for map, location, and directions functionality.
- Sentry for app monitoring and error tracking when enabled in the active build.
LooMaps may also process certain product usage events in its own backend systems rather than through a separate third-party analytics product.12. How information may be shared
LooMaps may share information:
- With service providers that help us operate LooMaps.
- With moderators and administrators who review content, reports, and submissions.
- When needed to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect rights and safety.
- In connection with a business transaction involving LooMaps, subject to applicable law.
LooMaps does not sell personal information.13. Data retention
LooMaps keeps information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain safety and moderation records, fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Personal and account data are generally retained for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to complete account operations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect the service. Approved community contributions may be retained longer where they form part of the shared LooMaps restroom dataset. Certain records may also be retained in de-identified or limited form where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, moderation, legal compliance, or maintaining service integrity.14. Account deletion and de-identification
When you delete your account, LooMaps deletes your account and personal account information, including your authentication account, profile, avatar, favorites, notifications, device tokens, check-ins, and personal gamification state.Pending, rejected, private, or otherwise non-public contributions associated with your account are deleted where applicable.Certain information that has already been approved and incorporated into the shared LooMaps restroom dataset may be retained in de-identified form to maintain the accuracy and continuity of community restroom information. This may include approved restroom reviews, approved restroom photos, and approved restroom information. Any retained contribution is separated from your deleted account and its account attribution is removed or replaced with a generic label such as “Former LooMaps user.”LooMaps may also retain limited de-identified records where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, moderation, legal compliance, or maintaining service integrity.15. Your choices and rights
You can generally:
- Choose whether to create an account.
- Update profile information and account settings.
- Control location permissions at the device level.
- Control push notification permissions at the device level.
- Delete your account through available account settings.

LooMaps uses measures intended to help protect information, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure. You should also help protect your account by using a strong password and keeping your credentials confidential.17. Children’s privacy

By accessing or using LooMaps, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use LooMaps.2. Eligibility
You may use LooMaps only if you can form a binding agreement with LooMaps and your use of the service is not prohibited by applicable law.3. Your account
Some features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, maintaining the security of your credentials, and all activity that occurs through your account.4. What LooMaps provides
LooMaps is a restroom discovery and community contribution service. It helps users discover restroom listings, view community information, save favorites, receive notifications, and submit content such as reviews, photos, restroom additions, edit suggestions, and reports.5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse LooMaps. For example, you must not:
- Use LooMaps in violation of law or the rights of others.
- Interfere with or disrupt the app, website, or backend systems.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization.
- Use automation, scraping, or abusive traffic patterns that harm the service.
- Submit false, misleading, harassing, infringing, or otherwise harmful content.6. User-generated content
You may submit reviews, ratings, photos, restroom listings, edit suggestions, reports, and other content. You are responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring you have the rights needed to submit it.7. License to operate the service
By submitting content to LooMaps, you grant LooMaps a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, process, moderate, display, and distribute that content within the LooMaps service as reasonably necessary to operate the service and maintain the shared community restroom dataset.8. Reviews, submissions, photos, and moderation
LooMaps may review, approve, reject, remove, limit, or otherwise moderate content at its discretion to protect service quality, safety, and community trust. LooMaps does not guarantee that submitted content will be published, remain available, or appear without modification.9. Prohibited content
You may not submit content that is unlawful or harmful, including content that:
- Is fraudulent, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harassing, or hateful.
- Invades privacy or discloses sensitive personal information about others without authorization.
- Infringes intellectual property or other rights.
- Contains malware, malicious code, or deceptive links.
- Misrepresents restroom conditions, accessibility, availability, or ownership in bad faith.10. Restroom information may change
Restroom listings, hours, availability, access rules, accessibility details, cleanliness, and other information may change at any time. Community-submitted content may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
LooMaps does not guarantee that any listed restroom is open, accessible, safe, available, accurately described, or appropriate for your needs at the time you choose to visit it.11. Maps, directions, and third-party services
LooMaps relies on third-party services such as Google Maps and related APIs, as well as infrastructure and operational vendors used to run the app. Your use of certain features may also be subject to those third parties’ terms and policies.12. Points, badges, rankings, and notifications
Community features such as points, badges, rankings, and notifications are provided for product functionality and may change, be suspended, or be removed at any time.13. Suspension or termination
LooMaps may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the service or specific content if it believes a user has violated these Terms, created risk, harmed others, or misused the service.14. Account deletion and retained public contributions
You may be able to delete your account through available account settings. When an account is deleted, we delete or de-identify personal and account-specific information associated with that account, including favorites, notifications, push token, personal profile state, check-ins, and personal points, badge, and competition state. Pending, rejected, private, or otherwise non-public contributions may also be deleted where applicable.
Certain approved community contributions, such as restroom reviews, photos, and approved restroom information, may remain available because they form part of the shared LooMaps community dataset. Where these contributions remain, we remove or anonymize account attribution. For example, an approved review may appear as submitted by a “Former LooMaps user.”15. Intellectual property
LooMaps and its related branding, design, software, and service content are protected by intellectual property and other laws. These Terms do not give you ownership of LooMaps or its underlying technology, except for the limited right to use the service in accordance with these Terms.16. Disclaimer of warranties
LooMaps is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. LooMaps does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy, reliability, safety, restroom condition, cleanliness, accessibility, or fitness for a particular purpose.17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LooMaps and its operators, affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, business opportunity, or service use, arising out of or related to your use of LooMaps.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total liability of LooMaps for claims arising out of or related to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid, if any, to use LooMaps in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).18. Changes to these Terms
